In a 2 page (double-spaced) reflection, write your reflection in a Word Document, using the same file you saved last week on the server.
Now that your WLE is coming to an end, reflect on the following things:
• What skills did you learn from your work at your WLE?
• What did you learn about the working world through your WLE?
• What leadership skills did you improve upon from your WLE?
• What challenges did you face during your WLE?

Skillls that i have learnded @ my internship include, peopleskils, like dealin with little children in a classroom type environment without my normal reactions of throwing things @ them as if they were my little brother, but i didnt have the chance to do so because i was given a demonstration on how to cope with them.
asaide from that i was pretty well prepared for the environment i would be working in.
the working world, i just dont think that its quite my cup of tea. see, my internship dosnt really resemble the typical working world, and it was kinda like going to school, but i think tha school is more like the real world because i have to get uup earlier.

Honestly nothing has changed since my involvement at the playhouse theatre. I have the same office skills and the same techniques. That is not to say I haven’t changed at all. The change was more emotional and social than ordinary office management I was expected to learn. I previously worked at a small law firm downtown. It was an extremely stressful for a young girl in high school. Not only did I have a lot of responsibility but even when I left the office I hassled for my “frivolous” behavior, as my mentor called it. I was once interrupted at a party at home because they had thought I had lost the keys when I had put them beside their desk and they didn’t realize it and because work was so fast paced those keys became submerged in legal documents, witness statements, and memos. For an hour I was bugged and interrogated until they finally had found the key. I am saying all of this to say that my last internship was a bit traumatizing and it was a relief for some to give a chance and accept mistakes. I hadn’t had a job since the law firm and I was kind of afraid I was afraid like before anything I would do would be a mistake but they were really cool
So again I didn’t learn much more knowledge that my peers in a office setting (mostly because I already had this knowledge) but I received the knowledge of how a proper work environment should work.
Argent,
The skills I have learned from my WLE is that you have to be careful and vigilant with children, because kids imitate a lot, they will copy what you said or do. Also, since they are so small and fast, it is hard to keep track of them. Combined with the kids being focused only on their next adventure and not aware of their surroundings. It appears that when you make something into a game or a competition the kids participate more and with more enthusiasm. I also learned that being patient is important, because rushing kids seems to make them cause mistakes and if they're trying to learn or do something they'll give up much more quickly.
I learned that the working world is hectic and requires people skills. Also, that the money is where national priority is at, not where it is most important. For example, preschool is important because there are little kids there who are learning and the skills they develop there can affect their future. The working world is much like school. We do the same thing everyday but what we learn and our actions for that day are different.
Some leadership skills I learned are how to manipulate little kids and how to communicate with them through hand gestures so that they can have picture what ever I'm trying to convey. Which was important because comprehending what ever the kids were telling me was a very difficult task. A lot of them do not speak clearly so it was very difficult for me to understand them. Another problem I faced was when the kids don't listen and I would have to get serious with them. One of the biggest problems I faced was when I would go out to find food while I was on break and while I was eating I would have to go back to my internship. This was a problem because then I would have to eat all my food very quickly because I didn't want to carry it back to my internship.

At my WLE I have done many things. For one I learned a bit more about teaching. Teaching is some thing that may be hard but it is very rewarding. Teaching can be bothersome but people wouldn’t teach if there wasn’t a meaning to teaching someone. I learned how to teach and it is going to take some time and effort. I learned how to communicate with kids who are very young and they are learning from every thing they see and hear. I learned a bit about how funded organizations work and what they do to stay open for a good cause. I taught a class or project you may call it and it was very fun. They listened and they where learning how to write letters also drawing and coloring. I learned how to command a class and to get every one to pay attention to me and to lead a class. The class was very fun and I learned a lot and I believe they learned a lot from me. I learned how a school work place is like with the teachers and some of the meetings they had. The teachers where nice and we got a long with all of them. Some things that was hard was just at first learning their names of the teachers and student. It was also hard to get the student attention at first because they just thought of me as a playmate and not as a teacher. Then they just grow on me and they got use to me being a teacher.

• What skills did you learn from your work at your WLE? I learned many office and computer skills such as: surveymonkey, filezilla, microsoft excel, the big copy machine, and other office skills.
• What did you learn about the working world through your WLE? Sitting down and looking at a screen from 9-5 is something I DONT want to have as a career!!
• What leadership skills did you improve upon from your WLE?I dont think Ive improved in any of my leadership skills because those skills dont need improvement. But if I were to pick one i guees Im better at communicating with other people nicely even if their being rude to me.
• What challenges did you face during your WLE? Staying there from 9-5!!! Wayyy to long!!!

At Donors Choose i have learned much more about the organization than i knew before (i had never heard of it). i have learned how it helps schools/teachers, how it is funded, its history and how hard they have to work to make sure that education can be better for kids. I had very little prior office work helping my mother who is a secretary at Grace Luetheran church but it was nothing compared to what i did at Donors Choose. I had to pack hundreds of envelopes, sort bazillions of pictures, read teacher feedback, address letters and much, much more. It wasn't fun but it sure was great experience. I never really knew how businesses worked until this WLE. I was never really interested in the business world and now im still not but i have a greater respect for thoose who do.
I learned that no matter how big an organization can be, there is always going to be tasks that machines cannot do and instead must be hand done by dedicated individuals. The two Women i worked for; Aditi and Becky, shared that sort of dedication and were always busy. it really was inspiring.
I definitely improved upon my punctuality, responsibilities, cooperation and obedience.
My challenges included improving my people skills, etiquette, working diligently, anddoing the same activity for hours on end.

Now that my internship is coming to an end I am not looking forward to it. I had really enjoyed interning at the DA’s office, and I was already use to the people that I worked for, and it’s unfortunate that it’s all coming to an end. I feel that I’ve learned a lot here, and its more then I thought I would get out of it. I’ve learned a lot of office management skills such as different forms of filing. I was amazed about all the different forms of filing that are involved. For example, the bench warrants are filed in a completely different way then the department filing, subpoenas filing, or even the record room filing. There all specific ways of doing things, and I think this thought me about the diversity of duties that need to be done in these kinds of offices. I also learned about subpoenas, what their for, how their done, and why their important, and I actually found a lot of these things pretty interesting. The things that I’ve learned about the working world through my WLE has been the way that they run things and the type of work that needs to be done. I’ve also learned how responsible you have to be when it comes to getting the work done. Its not like school when you don’t do an assignment and you can make it up later, because if you don’t have certain paper work then it can harm the case in a huge way, so its very important that you’re prepared for each work day. I think that the leadership skills that I improved on through my WLE were collaborating with others and working with different people. I also improved on listening to others, which I think is a good leadership quality that I must do. The challenges that I faced I faced during my WLE were learning how to work in a new environment with a different group of people than I’m use to working with. I was also faced with the challenge of having to be in a professional setting all the time so I had to behave correctly and I had to act even better then I do at school because sometimes I can get kind of lazy and whining and I can’t do that their, so it helped
• What leadership skills did you improve upon from your WLE?
• What challenges did you face during your WLE?
• wellllllllll, im not sure. when i was doing leadertype things, like teaching the class, i just did it. it felt a little like an exhibition, infront of fourthgraders, so i was no big deal, and because of the lack of it being a big deal, im not sure if i got any improvment from it.
• what challenges did i face?
there were hella challenges.
making things in my project work, working with little kids, running errands and getting chased by dogs, mostly the little kids though.

The skills that I got form my WLE was how to communicate with the children and how ot plan a lesson plan that will work with the kids. I learned that it's hard planning a lesson plan and that the school is hard to run and the teachers there are very good at what they do or else the school would not be very organized. The leadership skills that I improve was probably my organization and to be on time evryday because I was never late to my WLE and I lead a whole lesson planned bu myslef. The chlenges that I fased where that students didn't listen to me at the begining but at the end they did I was able to get them to listen to me.

The skills I learned from my wle were how to teach and how to use my skills in the real world to help people. Some things that I learned about the work world were dealing with clients, working some in the office, and how you need to act around others in a working area. These things I will take far in life when I one day am working as hard as they are everyday. The leadership skills I feel I improved on were collaborating with others in a team. When we worked at Project open hand and we all had to work together to get the work done and get free lunch. Some challenges that I faced during my wle was getting to know the people I worked with and then having to problem solve when things got bad with the clients.

i didnt go to my WLE this week because i was sick so i stayed home but i went the next day because they had a little poetry slam upper there and it was pretty cool. they did poetry plays and wrote there own poetry and they even did poetry freestyle where one person start a poem and the nex person feed off of what he said. it was pretty fun.
